RE:treat Your Self

My inspiration for Soul Space Retreats came to me after I spent two weeks in India on a yoga retreat and came home feeling like a new person.

This was five years ago now and back then my kids were much smaller. Worrying about just my own needs, exploring a new country, practicing yoga and being with a beautiful group of people was absolute bliss and I was totally recharged – on all levels – when I arrived home.

The value of time spent to rest and recover became very apparent to me and I was motivated to recreate this feeling for myself and others back home in Cape Town. Taking two weeks for self care is not feasible year after year so I got creative and looked in my own back yard and designed weekend and day yoga retreats. You don’t have to travel far to unplug. A day to yourself, or a weekend ideally, is so healing and essential for overall balance and happiness.

The most recent retreat I hosted was in Swellendam a few weeks ago. It was a 3 day event and this was the second time I created a yoga weekend for this particular group of women. To say it was special is an understatement. The long weekend was filled with lots of yoga, spa treatments and amazing food & wine. Together we laughed, shed a few healing tears, had soulful chats and lots of time to unwind and relax.
