SoulSpaceBodyBY SONJA MCGILLICUDDY
Hi, I’m Sonja, welcome to SoulSpaceBody.
I believe that the body, when given time and the correct support in the form of food, exercise and self-care, can heal itself, no matter what it’s dealing with.
It is my mission to inspire and provide support, enhancing people’s health and happiness, igniting a ripple effect that will help heal the world.
Becoming a Health Coach was a natural next step for me and I’m excited to see where this path will lead me.
I hope to meet you along the way.
what i offer
If you struggle to understand the confusing and often conflicting information about which diet is best for you, you’re not alone, and you’re in the right place!
We are all so beautifully unique – there is no one size fits all approach to diet. Let me guide and support you in living your best life.
Together we will look at all areas of your life, such as your career, relationships, spirituality and life purpose (primary foods), and also the food on your plate (secondary foods).
- Weekly meal planning stresses you out
- You think you are eating healthy but still feel bloated, tired and can’t lose those last 5kg’s (I’ve been there!)
- You feel like your body is working against you
- You are addicted to sugar
I will create a 6-month personalized program incorporating new and sustainable health habits. This program is an investment and will require a commitment from you. It’s not a quick fix diet plan.
COACHING SESSIONS INCLUDE:
- 2 x
50 minutecoaching sessions per month (in person or via Skype) – 12 sessions in total
- Email support between sessions
- Free handouts including recipes and useful information pertaining to your health concerns

I’ve been teaching yoga for the past 12 years. I started guiding yoga 2 years ago. What’s the difference?
Strala Yoga is about ease. Ease isn’t a destination, its a process. This process involves slowing down, breathing deeply and feeling into your body as you are moving. Often in life, and in our yoga practice, we move like robots without really feeling.
We strive to achieve a pose reacting to the external rather than our inner intelligence. Feeling is how we accomplish ease. When we feel, we move easily and make decisions that heal our lives.
There are three main pieces to Strala.
1. Being – Being embodies how you are; how we do anything is how we do everything.
2. Moving – Moving embodies how you go about things. In Strala we encourage you to move naturally, with the least amount of effort, to improve efficiency and promote healing.
3. Healing – is what happens when you master being and moving authentically. When we put our attention on how we are and how we go about things, we begin to heal ourselves. With every practice we heal imbalances in the body; improve immunity; ignite relaxation; recover from injury, trauma and stress; and enjoy overall well-being.
So as a Strala Yoga Guide, I guide you through your practice, rather than dictate how you should move. I encourage you to move naturally, everything you have, in all directions. There are no restrictive alignment cues and imposing adjustments. Together we move like water, fuelled by our breath. We move intuitively, finding our own optimal body, balance, fitness and most of all, happiness. We radiate light.
This is the definition of Strala.

I’m 44, married and a mother to two handsome, funny and kind-hearted boys.
I love living a balanced life, which includes hiking with my two dogs, running, yoga and enjoying healthy and nutritious food – with a good glass of red.
My career began in the hotel industry. Over the past 10 years, I transitioned to working in Health and Wellness. I did my first Yoga Teacher Training 13 years ago and in 2017, a Strala Yoga Training. In September 2018 I began studying to become a Holistic Health Coach with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN).
Four years ago, when I turned 40, I felt the liberation of worrying less about what other people think of me. I got rid of several self-imposed limiting beliefs and traded those in for empowering wings. These wings have encouraged me to dream of an abundant future for myself and my family.
I’d love to help you fly high too.

A couple weeks ago, the theme of my IIN health coaching module was stress. Besides food and exercise, there is another very important component to facilitate healthy aging, and that is stress. Stress effects the entire body and influences how good or bad we sleep, eat...read more
My inspiration for Soul Space Retreats came to me after I spent two weeks in India on a yoga retreat and came home feeling like a new person. This was five years ago now and back then my kids were much smaller. Worrying about just my own needs, exploring a new...read more
